How long have you been flying or working in aviation?
I have been involved in aviation for over 18 years, and during that time I have been fortunate to work in a wide variety of aviation environments. My experiences have ranged from contracting for the military in Alabama and working on float planes in Alaska to teaching at a Part 147 A&P school in North Carolina and maintaining helicopters in a Part 135 operation in Hawaii. Most recently, I served as Director of Maintenance for a flight school supporting a fleet of 10 aircraft and over 100 students. As both a pilot and aircraft mechanic, I enjoy sharing my love for aviation while striving to uphold the highest standards of safety and excellence.
Where do you live?
I live in Greer, South Carolina, just outside Greenville in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Which of Sol’s core values do you try to model into your work?
The Little Things Matter. Aviation maintenance has taught me that the smallest details often matter the most. Careful inspections, accurate documentation, and clear communication all play an important role in maintaining safe and reliable operations. Focusing on those details helps build trust and supports the entire team.
How did this opportunity with Sol find its way to you?
Interestingly, the opportunity with Sol landed in my inbox one day. I wasn’t actively looking to make a change at the time, but as I learned more about the company, its people, and its mission, it quickly became clear that this was a unique opportunity and a great fit.
What excites you most about the work Sol is doing?
What excites me most about Sol’s work is the opportunity to support missions that rely on safe and dependable aviation operations. Helping ensure aircraft are safe, well-maintained, and ready to operate is a rewarding process to be a part of.
How do you think Sol sets itself apart from other aviation companies?
I believe Sol sets itself apart through its strong focus on people, safety, discipline, and attention to detail. The company clearly values doing things the right way while supporting both its team and its clients. That culture of professionalism and care helps drive a successful operation.
What is your favorite airport to land at or one you are looking forward to landing at?
A few airports come to mind. Falwell Airport (W24) stands out because it’s such a challenging airport to operate in and out of. Destin Executive Airport (KDTS) is hard to beat with the beach, great food, and crew car perks. And Greenville Downtown Airport (KGMU) will always rank high on the list since it’s my home airport.
Favorite season of the year?
Early spring. The weather starts warming up, everything begins blooming and turning green again, and it’s a great time to be outdoors.
What are the first three things on your bucket list?
1. Take a cross-country road trip through the western United States with my family.
2. Visit New Zealand and experience its incredible landscapes.
3.Visit Scotland to explore its historic castles and beautiful countryside.
Who or what inspires you to keep going?
My wife and son inspire me to keep going. Their encouragement and support motivate me to keep growing both personally and professionally.
Are you a “jump out of bed” kind of person or a “five more minutes” specialist?
Definitely a “jump out of bed” kind of person.
Is there something you can’t live without?
My family, my faith, aviation, and probably Dr. Pepper. They help keep me going and give perspective to everything else in life.
