Damian Doig

Sol Aerial Surveys Team

Director of Flight Operations

How long have you been flying?

8 years, 6 as an aerial survey pilot

Where do you live?
I currently reside in Arvada Colorado

Favorite cuisine?
(obvious answer is chipotle) Besides Chipotle, it’s hard to say no to a good taco, or chicken wings

Is there something you can’t live without?
I’m going to be super cheesy and say family.

What makes Sol a special place to work?

The people, the drive, and the devotion to doing things at the highest level possible.

Which of our company values resonates the most with you?

Hard Work, with the caveat that smart hard work is the key to moving forward.

What duties do you have at work?

I manage the Flight Operations Manager and Chief Pilot. I also handle working on large projects to move the company forward on our year, 3 year, and 10 year plans. I occasionally support the pilots day to day as Flight Operations Manager on Duty, making sure we assess the weather properly to safely launch and capture

throughout the country.

How did you find this position?

I started out as an Aerial Survey Pilot here after working as the Assistant Chief Pilot at another aerial survey company. I was then promoted to Chief Pilot, until my most recent promotion in Fall of 2025

What inspired you to choose this career path?

I stumbled into it really, and now I am committed to growing Sol into something that impacts the aviation community as a whole.

What excites you about our work?

The joy of working with like minded people who are willing to be challenged, and stretch their strengths to level they never knew was possible. To help those around me grow and achieve amazing things.

What makes Sol stand out from the competition?

Our drive and passion to execute all we do at the most efficient and fail proof level is what has, and will continue to propel us to excellence over the long term.
